A Commitment for Christian Education

The purpose of Our Savior Lutheran School is to assist parents in fulfilling the Great Commission given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus. (Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.) That purpose, simply stated, is to disciple the children under our care for time and eternity by bringing them up in the instruction of the Lord (John 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John , do you truly love me more that these? Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.)

Why A Christian School?

1. It assists believers in meeting their God-given duty to teach children the Word of God.             
2. All learning is centered in Christ.             
3. Discipline can be administered through the use of God's Law and Gospel.             
4. It helps the children learn to focus their eyes on eternal life and not the things of this life.             
5. Christian friendships are made.             
6. Besides being nurtured in their faith, children are encouraged and trained to share their faith.

Objectives of Christian Education

1. To bring children to the knowledge of Jesus as their personal Savior.             
2. To give children a thorough instruction in God's Word.             
3. To develop competent citizens through thorough instruction in the required academic subjects.             
4. To develop in children God-pleasing habits and values.             
5. To support and strengthen the Christian home.             
6. To strengthen the Christian congregation.             
7. To build and strengthen Christian character.             
8. To give children a firm, workable knowledge of Scripture that they may face future situations in the light of God's Word.             
9. To instill in the children a love for God's Word and a zeal to share it.

Course of Study

1. The courses of study are based on the truths of God's Word and the requirements of the State of Wisconsin.             
2. Textbooks are carefully chosen by the teacher that the children may get the best training possible.             
3. Textbooks are kept up-to-date and reviewed each year.             
4. Nationally standardized tests are administered every other year to students in grades 1-8. Kindergarten students are tested every year.             
5. These tests are evaluated that they may show the child's strengths and weaknesses.

Faculty

1. The faculty of Our Savior Lutheran School is comprised of trained men and women who have dedicated themselves to the service of the Lord and are in full agreement with the teachings of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.       
2. To maintain and further their professional growth, teachers regularly attend workshops, classes, conferences, etc.             
3. Our teachers receive a divine call. They are called by the Lord through the congregation to do the Lord's work.
